Manga, an orphan girl raised as a child goddess in a landlord’s bungalow in remote North Andhra region in India, is forced to flee from her village when she turns fourteen. She grows up despising her village and the villagers for abandoning her in a time of crisis and especially for forbidding her to see her mango tree, her childhood best friend.

Twenty years later, when she is at a crossroads in life, she gets handed a letter from the old landlord begging her to return to the village. Reluctantly, when she returns, secrets unravel. To protect everything she loves, she now has to fight bigger demons of generational abuse and greed. How she stands her ground and fights once she decides to be in it for the long haul is to be read.
